The Sweet Smell of My Childhood

20 06 2007

Its been a childhood trait in me to associate everythin new by their smell. The fragrant white li’l erasers wit a cartoon on them that I’d buy 4 school from the shop in my busstop, the fruity smell of the green lipstick that wud turn red when applied ( I called it MAGIC LIPSTICK then), The smell of freshly sharpened pencils in my pencil box. The circular sharpener wit a mirror on the other side, that v’d keep flashin on the walls of the class when teacher turned towards the black board, n other things which i’ll update when i remember. After all these years I’ve suddenly got da urge to smell these things again. I’ve got my magic lipstick and circular sharpener wit mirror. Now da hunt is on for the soft white fragrant lil erasers that id rub off & shrink at school, so that i cud buy a fresh 1 from my stop da nex day ;)

Mobile blogging

16 06 2007

Am not a frequent blogger coz I don’t have da patience to sit for long and tap at my keyboard unless I’m chattin ;) . I alws wud wish blogging was as easy as lyin on bed and publishing thru ur handheld device. I did c da article on Blogger mobile few days back, but sadly it just works in da US and for a limited number of mobile operators. In dis method the bloggers r asked to send in their entries via mms or email to an email id of the blogger team. The blogger team does da rest by posting their entry in an alternative domain of blogger. Once the handheld device is recognised a verification code is sent to them so they can claim their blog once they r in front of their comp n tht way its posted directly in their blog. Very complicated 4 me n wont work in other countries too..

So how do we non-US ppl try out mobile blogging? I wanted an EASIER method where v cud blog thru gprs/wap n I’ve found it, all thanks to Google Mobile Web search. Follow the steps below and u too cud start mobile blogging! [P.S. I'm not sure if u cud insert pics thru dis method but hu cares! U cud alws come back n edit from ur comp ;) ]

1. From ur PC go to ur blog -> CUSTOMIZE -> SETTINGS -> EMAIL -> Mail-to Blogger address.

2.Mail to blogger address has two parts username.secrettext@blogger.com
ur username is shown, n u just have to enter ANY word in the box n MARK PUBLISH -> SAVE SETTINGS. ( Marking publish ensures that ur posts r published on ur blog immediately)

3. Thats all u need to do from ur comp. Now from ur wap/gprs enabled handheld device u can mobile blog in two ways..

-> WAP ABIRO METHOD: Go to this address & bookmark it.
http://wap.abiro.com/blogpost/bloginit.wml#bloginit
Enter ur username.secrettext without @blogger.com n ur ready to begin mobile blogging! :)

-> WAP EMAIL METHOD: Send your post to your blog via any of your email account (yahoo, gmail etc) thru gprs. All u gotta do in dis case is compose ur entry n mail it to ur mail-in-blogger address which looks somewhat like username.secrettext@blogger.com. This is a better way compared to da WAP ABIRO method coz u can upload pics from ur fone too.. Attachments can b done thru gmail but works wit certain mobiles only (I dunno which models, so if u have any idea pls lemme know) ..

NOTE: I wud suggest u to type ur blog in create msg option of mms or email of ur fone, copy da same, connect to wap n paste it in the blog body so that connection doesn’t time out n also a better option in case ur wap is charged.
