Henna Hair Gloss

I love my hair and now love hennaing it too. There were times when my hair looked so bad that braiding them was the only option. Nowadays thanks to the advance in beauty, you dont know what a persons real hair looks like. Straightening, ironing, perming, blowdrying, hair extensions, you name it they’re all there. I wonder if people do have a bad hair day in this age?? Unless there’s a nasty power cut that is..

But these heat treatments usually do kill your hair and now thats where your saviour henna comes in. Feed your hair before you experiment with it, so that its able to withstand the torture. Your hair needs food just like you do! Would you prefer to eat natural(real) food or just have artificial food supplements? Exactly!! So why not feed your hair with something natural like henna?

Merits of applying henna to your hair:

• Gives a cool feeling to your head
• Good Sleep
• Gloss to your hair (sparkles like crazy when you’re out in the sun)
• Glow to your face
• Volume to hair
• Natural conditioner
• Fills bald spots with constant use (like once a week)

Recipe I use:

• 4 tbsps powdered henna
• 1 tbsp of any hair oil
• Egg white of 1 egg (optional)
• 1-2 cups of tea and lemon decoction [Boil 2 cups of water with 1 tbsp of tea powder and 3/4 th tbsp of dried lemon powder (black)]

Mix the henna, oil and decoction until a lump free paste is formed. If egg white is to be used, it sould be mixed into the paste just before application to hair. The paste shouldnt be too thick or too thin. It should be of medium consistency. Leave the henna paste in its bowl for 6 to 8 hours. After this period it maybe applied on your hair and for a minimum of 3 hours. Wash it off with very little shampoo. Best to henna your hair once a week or once in two weeks.

Hennaing your hair can be quite a messy affair, especially when the part comes to washing it off. No tension if your getting it done in a saloon, do it at home and you end up cleaning up your bathroom! But we need to give in a little for beauty. Like they say,”No pain, No gain”, What say gals?? ; )

I wonder what else could be free in this world. You find almost everything in this big bad world of internet. So I thought why not google out for freebies? By freebies I mean the hard copies, not electronic soft copies like softwares, movies, wallpapers et al. Something that I could touch and feel, more like a gift. Are people kind enough to give out gifts to strangers online? My quest begins.

I start with free cosmetic samples and have to give up soon. Firstly, my country isn’t listed. Secondly, you need to make the payment for shipping charges first and thirdly I dont trust online payment even if my country was ported. So out goes an item from my list of freebies. Next I think of subscribing to free magazines. As luck would have it the offers are limited just to USA & Canada.. Sigh! But I dont give up. Soon I come across few magazines that WILL be sent to my country. Hooray!! And I rush to fill out the pages of forms. Some very boring business magazines, but who cares, they’re free!! Going through few more sites, I find an interesting fashion and lifestyle magazine that will be mailed and asking me just for my name and address. Double Hooray!!

I come across another site where every damn thing in this world from toys to gadgets are free! My happiness is short lived, coz again limited to US & Canada. DAMN! how more lucky can people in these places get? Hold on for a sec, there’s something fishy. Why in the world should such things be free? There’s got to be a catch.

Too late, I’ve already subcribed to many free magazines by now. So with bated breath I wait for them to arrive in my mailbox. What’s the catch, do I hear you say? I dunno people, I just don’t know..
